Basic Configuration Settings

In order to upload a lesson to your blog you need to configure an account that provides the information ScreenSteps needs in order to communicate with your blog. This lesson will provide a general overview of how to create and configure an account.
For more detailed information on configuring Web Export accounts please see the Publishing to Blogs & Wikis manual.

Once you have created a Web Export account for your blog in Preferences you can post any of your lessons using the Blog/Web export feature.
Confluence

In order to use ScreenSteps with Confluence you need to enable the Remote API feature in the Confluence settings. This lesson will show you how.
Drupal 6

This lesson will show you how to post to Drupal version 6.15 with ScreenSteps.

When ScreenSteps uploads a lesson to Drupal the images in the lesson are stored in the path stored in the Site configuration > File system area. You need to confirm that this path is set up correctly and that the folder is writable.

If your default Input Format is set to Filtered HTML then the content you upload from ScreenSteps might not look correct. This lesson will show you how to change the Input Format setting on an individual post.

If you will be posting lots of ScreenSteps content to Drupal you may want to consider changing the default Input Format to Full HTML rather than Filtered HTML. The default input format, Filtered HTML, will not show lesson images.
You can also change the input format on a per-lesson basis if you don't want to change the setting globally.

Joomla

Before you begin you will need to enable Web Services in your Joomla installation. This allows outside applications to submit content to Joomla.

In order to post content from ScreenSteps Desktop to Joomla you need a Joomla plugin that supports the Movable Type XML-RPC API. You can find such a plugin in the Joomla Extensions Directory. It is called the MovableType XML-RPC Plugin and it can be found at the following URL:

Squarespace

Squarespace allows XML-RPC blogging clients to post content (read more). This means you can post lessons from ScreenSteps to Squarespace using the Export to Blog feature.
To begin, follow the instructions for setting up a new Web Export account.
Zendesk

With Zendesk export support you can now use ScreenSteps to quickly generate forum posts that speak through pictures. ScreenSteps will upload all of the images and lesson text for you and your forum post will be ready to go.
Here are some instructions for configuring a web export account that will upload to Zendesk. You must have ScreenSteps 2.8.7 or higher to post to Zendesk.

Important Note: ScreenSteps will only update the forum post. None of the comments will be affected. ScreenSteps will not delete any attachments associated with the original post. If you have any attachments that you no longer want to associated with the forum post you will need to manually delete them.
